Successful assistive technology strategies are being implemented throughout the state on a daily basis exemplifying the astounding knowledge base in Michigan. With increasing demands and diminishing resources, it is more important than ever to capitalize on available knowledge and share ideas and strategies with each other.

During the 2004-2005 school year, MITS and TAM will collect from AT personnel, ideas that have proven to be successful in improving access to the curriculum for students with disabilities.

MITS consultant staff and TAM representatives attending the regional meetings will distribute 3-ring binders to each of the designated AT contacts. The binders will contain four categories:

  1. Accessing the Curriculum
  2. Developing AT Services
  3. Professional Development/Training Others
  4. Other

Each category will contain a sample activity along with blank forms. Ideas gathered from various sources will be distributed to the AT contacts to add to the binder throughout the year.
